Budu\u0107i da ih tijelo ne mo\u017ee samo proizvesti u dovoljnim koli\u010dinama, potrebno ih je unositi putem prehrane ili dodataka prehrani. Najpoznatije vrste omega-3 masnih kiselina su EPA (eikozapentaenska kiselina), DHA (dokozaheksaenska kiselina) i ALA (alfa-linolenska kiselina). One se prirodno nalaze u masnoj ribi, poput lososa, sardina i sku\u0161e, kao i u nekim biljnim izvorima poput lanenih sjemenki, chia sjemenki i oraha.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"txswq0\" data-start=\"568\" data-end=\"594\">Omega-3 i zdravlje srca<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"596\" data-end=\"871\">Jedna od najpoznatijih koristi omega-3 masnih kiselina odnosi se na zdravlje srca i krvnih \u017eila. Prema znanstvenim procjenama koje je ocijenila Europska agencija za sigurnost hrane (EFSA), EPA i DHA doprinose normalnoj funkciji srca kada se unose u koli\u010dini od 250 mg dnevno.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"873\" data-end=\"1190\">Osim toga, odre\u0111ene koli\u010dine omega-3 masnih kiselina mogu doprinijeti odr\u017eavanju normalne razine triglicerida u krvi te pomo\u0107i u odr\u017eavanju normalnog krvnog tlaka, kada se uzimaju u ve\u0107im, jasno definiranim dozama. Zbog toga se omega-3 \u010desto povezuje s uravnote\u017eenom prehranom koja podr\u017eava kardiovaskularno zdravlje.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"1s13qei\" data-start=\"1192\" data-end=\"1215\">Podr\u0161ka mozgu i vidu<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1217\" data-end=\"1408\">DHA je posebno va\u017ena za pravilno funkcioniranje mozga i vida. EFSA navodi da DHA doprinosi odr\u017eavanju normalne funkcije mozga te odr\u017eavanju normalnog vida kada je dnevni unos najmanje 250 mg.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1410\" data-end=\"1678\">Mozak sadr\u017ei zna\u010dajne koli\u010dine DHA, pa je ova masna kiselina va\u017ena za strukturu i funkciju \u017eiv\u010danih stanica. Zbog toga se omega-3 \u010desto spominje u kontekstu podr\u0161ke kognitivnim funkcijama, poput pam\u0107enja i koncentracije, kao i u razdobljima intenzivnog mentalnog rada.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"mh3uva\" data-start=\"1680\" data-end=\"1714\">Omega-3 u svakodnevnoj prehrani<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1716\" data-end=\"1923\">Omega-3 masne kiseline mogu se unositi putem raznolike i uravnote\u017eene prehrane. Stru\u010dnjaci \u010desto preporu\u010duju konzumaciju masne ribe barem jedan do dva puta tjedno kako bi se osigurao dovoljan unos EPA i DHA.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1925\" data-end=\"2181\">Za osobe koje rijetko jedu ribu dostupni su i dodaci prehrani koji sadr\u017ee riblje ulje ili ulje algi.
